The art of wood burning or pyrography was popular at the turn of the 20th century. It is also referred to as Flemish Art and is very collectable. We are offering a wall plaque and a folding bookshelf on a textured wood surface protected by a shellac or varnish. Basswood was often used as it is a soft wood for carving and does not splinter. This is a decorative process that is rising again in popularity.
