This OAK WINGED GRIFFIN MORRIS CHAIR is truly unique. It is a showpiece attributed to the R. J. Horner Co. of lower Manhattan, circa 1886 to 1900. R. J. Horner furniture was designed by the prominent American furniture maker of that era. R. J. Horner made quality furniture and marketed it on the east coast. It eventually became known as the best furniture made, and it was distributed all across the country and beyond. This MORRIS CHAIR with foot stool is a survivor, and a classic example of original HORNER furniture from the late 19th century. It speaks for itself with winged griffins and claw feet with knuckles. It has been upholstered in genuine Italian leather, a testament to the fine workmanship exhibited by this chair.
