This CARPENTER'S CHEST was hand made by Scott Watts, a boat builder by trade, of Roque Bluffs (Machias), Maine, around 1900. The chest is constructed of a combination of cedar and pine and has cast iron handles on each side. It is finished inside and out and could be used to store clothing or as a coffee table. It is obvious that much love and care was used in the construction of this piece. It is solidly built with a great Maine story to tell.
