Here is a rare BUTTER CARRIER from the early 1900s! This BUTTER CARRIER has survived, while many have not. It is a wooden item with a cast iron handle on the top and cast iron hinges that was used deliver butter and keep it fresh from the farm to the country kitchen table. This particular BUTTER CARRIER has stenciling on the top stating No. 7, 16 lbs. Here is a Maine antique with an early history.
